Step 2: A jet plow uses high pressure water to simultaneously create a trench and lay the cable, which is buried as sediments naturally resettle.

Step 4: At the shore, the cable is floated then pulled through underground pipes that provide a path for the cable to avoid disruption to the shorelines.

Step 5: The underwater cable is interconnected to underground cable in buried joint bay near shore.

New Haven Converter Station

Below is a conceptual drawing of the proposed converter station in New Haven, VT. Both converter stations will be designed to fit in with the surrounding landscape. A converter station enables the direct current cable to convert to alternating current so it can be connected to the existing electric grid.
